CHILDREN’S FORUM
WE SPEAK OUT ON CHILD TRAFFICKING AND CHILD PROTECTION
4-6 AUGUST 2007, HA NOI, VIETNAM
 
Seventy children from areas of Viet Nam where human trafficking poses an ever-present threat, gathered in the capital Hanoi on 4-6 August 2007.
The Vietnamese forum was a three-days event jam packed with role-playing, dramatic presentation, artistic recreation of the problem of trafficking, and ultimately the recommendations from the children.

Thailand

CHILDREN’S FORUM IN THAILAND
27-31 MARCH 2007, BANGKOK, THAILAND
 
The Thailand National Children’s Forum was the first in the national forum series leading up to the MYF.
The forum provided the children a full participating venue to address their views towards the problem of human trafficking in Thailand and to follow up their pees’ 2004 recommendations with the senior officials from the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security.  
 

Lao PDR

2007 CHILDREN AND YOUTH FORUM ON HUMAN TRAFFICKING
5-8 JUNE 2007, VIENTIANE, LAO PDR
 
The Children’s Forum was held in Vientiane and participated by 24 children from 4 provinces. The children had opportunity to present their recommendations to the representatives from the Task Force and Secretaries to the COMMIT.

CHINA’S NATIONAL CHILDREN’S FORUM
“WE DON’T NEED TO WAIT UNTIL WE ARE GROWN UP TO CHANGE THE WORLD!”
24-29 JULY, BEIJING, CHINA
From the terraced countryside of Yunnan Province to the rapidly expanding industrial zones of the Eastern Seaboard, Chinese children – aged 11 through 17 – have come together to craft the country’s first set of recommendations to combat human trafficking – drafted exclusively by and for young people.

Children are the future of each country, and the ones who can ensure a country’s sustainable development.  However, trafficking in children and women gravely abuses their rights.
