Mekong Youth Forum on Human Trafficking
MYF3: Let's Talk. Let's Act.
The 3rd Mekong Youth Forum on Human Trafficking and Migration (MYF3) is a regional event hosted by the Government of Thailand and co-organised by the International Labour Organization (ILO), World Vision, Save the Children UK, and the United Nations Inter-agency Project on Human Trafficking (UNIAP). This forum builds on the Mekong Children’s Forum, 2004 and the Mekong Youth Forum, 2007. It will be held from 24-30 October 2010.
At MYF3 five young people from the six Mekong countries – Cambodia, China, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam – will come together to discuss their experiences of migration and human trafficking. They will present recommendations to their governments on how to combat trafficking of young people, make migration safer, and improve engagement of young people in the issues surrounding migration and counter-trafficking policy-making and implementation.
The participants in the forum will be young advocates who will use creative arts to tell their stories, illustrate the situation of children and youth in the region vulnerable to trafficking, and put forward recommendations for future action.
