The China National Youth Forum

The China National Youth Forum was held in Beijing on 29 July 2010. 38 youth delegates from 9 different regions of China participated in the forum, sharing their suggestions on how to prevent human trafficking and make migration channels safer. The delegates believed that young people should become ‘pioneers’ of China’s counter-trafficking campaign. They advocated for more awareness-raising activities using schools, communities and the Internet. They also recommended that schools and communities work to improve the support services offered to children migrants, including education and healthcare. Their recommendations to the Government of China included introducing stronger counter-trafficking laws that are in accordance with international human trafficking legal instruments.
